There is no such thing as a ‘natural’ detergent. Soapwort is the closest there is, but that is not a true detergent. The Soap Products that we sell are therefore not ‘natural’, however they are ‘natural derived’. This means that they are synthesised from natural plant material, ie: Betaine is derived from Coconut palm kernal. The Soap Products contain no colouring or aroma, and are intended to be used as a base for therapists to add the appropriate herbs, oils, etc. All of our Soap Products are vegan and fully biodegradable. These Soaps contain no animal products and have never involved animal testing. For a full list of ingredients click on the individual product.
The suggested dilution for Essential Oils is 0.5% ie; 5mls of Essential Oil per Litre of Soap Base, or 10 drops of Essential Oil per 100mls of Soap Base. 2-3 drops of any natural food colouring should be enough to colour the Soap Products if you want to give a more commercial look to them.
The Melt and Pour Soap is easily melted either in a Bain Marie, or in a Microwave Oven. Once melted, herbs (Lavender, Rose Petals, Marigold, Citrus Peel, etc.) can be mixed in with Essential Oils and Colourings, and then the soap can be poured into moulds to cool. Cake tin moulds are ideal for this. Individual moulds can be used, or a large ‘cake’ can be sliced into individual pieces. Oatmeal can be added as an abrasive. These products make excellent gifts but are primarily intended for therapeutic use. There are many commercial Tea Tree Soap products available, but very few Manuka or Kanuka soaps, therefore you are able to tailor soap products for your individual clients’ needs.
